Lucknow: The 21st National Book Fair centered on the theme of ‘Kakori incident’ has started in Balrampur Garden Ashok Marg. The fair was inaugurated by senior advocate Ramji Das and Madhyanchal’s Director Commercial Yogesh Kumar. A play paying tribute to the martyrs was also staged on the theme of the fair. A series of literary events will also begin in this fair jointly organized by KT Foundation and Force One Books till October 6.
In the inaugural ceremony conducted under the stage management of Amita Dubey, advocate Ramji Das and Judo-Karate Association President TP Havelia talked about the importance of books along with the Kakori incident and said that books teach us how to live life.
Guests Yogesh Kumar, Dal Mill Association President Bharat Bhushan Gupta and Lucknow Vyapar Mandal Chairman Rajendra Agarwal also expressed their views.
Earlier, while welcoming the guests, convenor Manoj Singh Chandel remembered the founder associate Umesh Dhal and told about the 21-year journey of the book fair. He told that this time the stalls of Geeta Press Gorakhpur, Unbound Script and Vardhman Book Delhi, Flydream Indore, Shubhi Prakashan Gurugram, Future Solutions Prayagraj and Navpallav Books Lucknow are included for the first time.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, who was out of the capital, sent his message and said that he will definitely attend the fair some day.
Even before the inauguration of the fair, the youth had started coming and buying books. Most of the stalls of the fair were well decorated.
Although it rained in the evening, the number of book lovers kept increasing. Fair director Aakarsh Chandel told that keeping in mind the rain, a 15 thousand square feet waterproof German hangar has been installed. Book lovers will get at least 10 percent discount in this fair, which is one of the famous book fairs of the country, with free entry and running from 11 am to 9 pm every day.
Among the nearly 150 stalls of publishers and distributors set up at the fair are stalls of Vani, Prabhat, Rajpal, Rajkamal, Sasta Sahitya Mandal, Setu Prakashan, Samyak Prakashan, Gautam Book Center, Prakashan Sansthan, Nayi Kitab Prakashan, Ritesh Book, Rishabh Book, Rishi Publications, Nayyar Book, Bhartiya Kala Prakashan, Universal Book, Goodword Books, Arun Books, Yashika Enterprises, Educational Miracle, Educational and Scientific Aids, Padma Book, Shivangi Book, Books and Sons, Aditi Book, Mind Power Educational, National Council Urdu and Publication Department, Jai Book from Mumbai, Shridhupteshwar from Jaipur, Mehta Book from Patna, Vidhi Books from Ahmedabad, Hind Yugam from Noida, New Book from Ghaziabad, Nikhil Publishers from Agra, Angel Book from Raipur. At the local level, stalls of Uttar Pradesh Hindi Sansthan, Uttar Pradesh Urdu Academy, Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthan, Bodhras Prakashan, Dalit Sahitya, Divyansh Publications, Ramakrishna Math Yogada Satsang, Rashtradharma Prakashan, Hindi Vangmay Nidhi, Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, E Local Shop, Gayatri Gyan Mandir, Being Bookish, Ahmadiya Community, The Real Mark, Subhash Pustak Bhandar, Raju Stickers, Devendra Books etc. are decorated.
Artists of Natraj Kala Mandal presented a drama on the theme of the fair, Kakori incident. In the presentation, Anvesh Shukla was seen along with Vimal Prakash as Chandrashekhar Azad, Kabir Khan as Ashfaqullah, Shubham Kashyap in the role of Ram Prasad Bismil, Manoj Gupta as Hindustani Adhikari and Thakur Roshan Singh and Anil Tiwari as Bhagat Singh. The musical oration was by Nupur.
